Lots of Android Apps use private user information suspiciously...

I was really surprised when I read an article saying that 2 out of 3 android applications use personal private data "suspiciously". According to a study conducted by scientists at two different universities and Intel Labs, on 30 applications randomly selected from the most popular apps from the android market found out that some apps send sensitive information to different servers without the user being aware. I guess I give permission to my private information as soon as I hit the install key on my phone applications, but I should be given the choice if such information is going to be handled by third parties. As an android fan I'm really hoping for improvements in this matter so we can keep advancing in the right direction as an open source platform.

Why Android...

On my first post I want to say a little about my experience with the my first android cell phone. A couple of years ago on October 2008 to be exact the first cell phone with the android OS was released the T mobile G1, I was very intrigued about this new operative system as I've been a fan for quite a long time of many of the Google products that have come out. So I got my G1 early in November of that year and even though it was the first android cellphone tryout I was very happy with it. I could see the potential that Android platform had just by manipulating the very first applications which by the way were free and easy to install. I've rooted (hacked) that phone and it even became my own personal Wi Fi hot spot for quite along time. Now I'm trying to do the same thing with my new android phone, the Droid which is a much more polished and powerful cellphone with lots of improvements and a newest version Android 2.2 Froyo. I hope people with the same android inclinations will want to read from my blog learn from it and comment so I can learn from you guys too.
