Why Android...
On my first post I want to say a little about my experience with the my first android cell phone. A couple of years ago on October 2008 to be exact the first cell phone with the android OS was released the T mobile G1, I was very intrigued about this new operative system as I've been a fan for quite a long time of many of the Google products that have come out. So I got my G1 early in November of that year and even though it was the first android cellphone tryout I was very happy with it. I could see the potential that Android platform had just by manipulating the very first applications which by the way were free and easy to install. I've rooted (hacked) that phone and it even became my own personal Wi Fi hot spot for quite along time. Now I'm trying to do the same thing with my new android phone, the Droid which is a much more polished and powerful cellphone with lots of improvements and a newest version Android 2.2 Froyo. I hope people with the same android inclinations will want to read from my blog learn from it and comment so I can learn from you guys too.

Did you know that CSN has a new course called "Intro to iPhone Programming"? Would that be of interest to Droid fans like you? Or are you far beyond those skills?
ReplyDelete@JudyNV The class you are talking about is not going to be really useful. That class is taught by Mess and the class hardly gets into the Objective-C language. Android on the other hand, uses Java to make its applications.
ReplyDeleteAs for the post, It looks like Android is becoming more popular. I have a Droid as well and made at least one application for it, but it is not in the Android Market.
I am of the opinion that a phone is used to make phone calls. I use plain old telephone cell, only for emergencies, to call AAA if car fails etc. I never turn it on so anyone can call me, as I do not need an electronic leash. If I need a computer, I have 3 desktops and one laptop to run my applications.
ReplyDeleteI know many older people that think the way D.A. Tripp, and that's one of the reasons that most of the new applications and technology is oriented towards the 14-25 years of age users.
ReplyDeleteI have a HTC Droid Incredible with Verizon and I love it. The internet browser is much faster than on the iPhone and the picture is very vivid. I get much better call reception too than on the iPhone.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any experience with the Droid yet, but it does look like a pretty awesome phone. Maybe I'll be able to get my hands on one in the future; so it'll be nice to read some of the information you have to share.
