And the Winner is: Android

After a lot of debating, I decided to write about the latest article that compares the most popular smartphones Operative Systems in the market I found in a magazine called Maximum PC  (one of my favorites computer magazines because is oriented to the hardcore computer aficionados). The magazine editors took the iPhone 4, HTC Droid Incredible, Blackberry Torch and Nokia N900. They compared every comparable aspect on each one of the smartphones from hardware specifications to flexibility and customization. Bottom line, the Android OS is a winner on its own. The best phone as a whole was a tougher question to answer but at the end they picked the HTC's Incredible which is no surprise for me.  On the article they do clarify that the iPhone 4 has a superior screen, great touch interface and more apps. If you ask me, in the long run the iOS is not flexible at all and the applications and music from itunes make a big dent on your wallet. I hope my findings will help some people to give a second thought when is time to decide what phone to get. Click here to read the entire article. Keep your comments coming.

  1. I think they give a fair review on the phones. I myself have an iphone4 and don't think I'll be giving it up anytime soon. I know that the Android OS is great as well. I owned a Google Nexus One for a couple weeks. I've owned an iphone since day one and its pretty much my preference.

  3. Very true, the iOS, formerly iPhone OS, is not that flexible. People technically have to jailbreak their device to access the full power. It's also not flexible to programmers as they are forced to use a language that they may not be familiar with. As for my choice on phones, I'd say that the Motorola Droid is the best, since other phones power by Android look a bit confusing.

  4. I own an iPhone and I can't ever see giving it up, but this seems like a well done article. Does the HTC incredible support flash?

  5. If you are referring to Flash player, the HTC Incredible updated to Android 2.2 Froyo does support flash player.

  6. All Android phones with Android 2.2 support Flash, but it is no big deal, since even with flash, some sites just have a horrid experience.

  7. I agree with you completely, the experience of watching a video in a phone is not perfect but getting there for sure is.

  8. I like the way the android OS is going, but in my opinion the Palm OS is much superior in terms of running multiple apps and in general user interface, what do you think of it?
